Distant trains

Sonic sources - two samples of (1) ice cubes in a medium sized plastic thermos with and without water and (2) the distant sound of trains that pass by my home. "Bass drum" and "gong" were generated by Jean-Claude Risset's drum synthesis. My processing include: granulation, stretched and distorted transients and a wave stacked bass drone. As with all of my music I "orchestrate" the frequencies and use diffusion as a compositional tool, giving the work an antiphonal quality.
